Rich and Michelle Flashman

Branch Leaders serving in Southern Connecticut

Their Story

Richard Flashman was raised in a Jewish family in Newton, Massachusetts. In college a young man shared the Good News about Jesus with him and challenged him to read the Hebrew prophets. After reading Isaiah 53, Rich realized that Jesus was Israel’s promised Messiah. Soon after, God called Rich to full-time ministry. After graduating from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with an M.Div. and a Th.M., Rich, with wife Michelle, and their three boys went on to pastor two EFCA churches in Connecticut for 27 years. During that time Rich completed the work for his Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Presently, Rich is the Chaplain, Director of Field Education, and an Instructor at the Charles Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies as well as the lead church planter of the only English- speaking Messianic congregation in Brooklyn, New York. Rich also leads the southern Connecticut branch of Chosen People Ministries.

TEAM began in 1890 as the Evangelical Mission Alliance with the objective, to "Make Him Known."

David and Emily Cetola are part of that continuing effort working as missionaries in Forli, Italy.  Below is some of their story:

As church planters in Forlì, Italy (about 40 mins east of Bologna in the Emilia Romagna region) we are involved in a variety of different aspects of ministry.  Shepherding, training, and discipling our small church of about 20 people is an important part of growing Christ’s witness in our city.  Additionally, we work hard to plan and host events/clubs/dinners etc. to get to know people in our community with the heart of sharing the gospel.  While the bulk of our ministry is in the Italian language, at times we provide conversational English opportunities as a means to get to know people and provide a felt need for Italians.  In 2021 God opened the door to the beginning of a university ministry in our city.  We’ve started something called Language Exchange which is a group for young adults (high school and university +).  Whether it’s a game night, holiday party, or Paint and Sip, we organize all kinds of fun activities to get to know young people.  Though this outreach, God has opened the door to multiple exploratory Bible studies with students who we’ve befriended.
